Trail Walk at Talking Brook Public Land Wednesday May 1

Thirteen Wednesday Walkers hiked at Thayer Brook Preserve; Dan, Richard, and Stu enjoyed the sun at the end

The Thayer Brook Preserve trail was in good shape for our walk last week.  We trekked  to the bog and saw a few early returning birds.  We decided to return later in May to see more of the wildlife and the many other bird species that we’ve seen in the past.

On Wednesday, May 1, at 10 a.m. we will hike the Big Falls Preserve Trail which is now part of the Talking Brook Public Land and can be found at 402 Woodman Road in New Gloucester.  It is a moderate woods trail with lots of roots and a gradual ascent to the falls.   Parking will be at the RRCT trailhead and more information can be found here.

Please come prepared for the weather and trail conditions.  Beware of the ticks!

Stay safe and active,
Anne Maurice
