Summer is in full swing and there is plenty to do around town!

If you’re looking to get moving, you can head to Pineland Farms to take part in their Wednesday evening running club or try Disc Golf lessons. The Sabbathday Lake Association is organizing a full moon paddle on July 20. You can learn more about lake ecology by volunteering with the lake patrol or attending the Plant Identification Workshop on July 16. You can find more summer activities at GNG Rec.

Rather take a more relaxed approach to summer weather? Cool off on the library lawn while enjoying the music of Marc Black or participate in a tour at Pineland Gardens. The New Gloucester Semiquincentennial Committee is hosting Church History Tours the weekend of July 13-14 and working with the Environmental Resources Committee to hold garden tours at the end of the month.

There are many events to keep kids busy while school is out for the summer. The New Gloucester Public Library is offering a full schedule of activities as part of its Summer Reading Program. Each week starts with storytime on Sundays and Crafty Kids on Monday afternoons, followed by storytime on Wednesdays and a movie matinee most Thursdays. Special offerings in July are Chewonki: Bats of the World and MadScience.

Pineland Farms also offers many kid-friendly programs: register for ice cream or salsa making workshops, help out in the barnyard with Friday Farmers, or enjoy a story walk.

MSAD 15 is hosting public meetings in July to discuss the latest iteration of the facilities bond project.
