RE: Two Important Meetings – Bond Project Public Meetings

The MSAD 15 Bond Committee has completed significant work over the last two years, with input from the public, school personnel, students, and community members. The bond committee’s work is at a critical phase and needs more attention from key stakeholders. The School Board will host two bond project public meetings in July.

Wednesday, July 17 at 6:30 pm at GNG High School
Monday, July 22 at 6:30 pm at Memorial School

Meeting objectives:

  1. For the architects and designers to present their drafts, drawings, charts, and graphic representations of the project.
  2. To allow the audience to view and inspect the drafts, drawings, charts, and graphic representations.
  3. To provide the audience with the opportunity to ask questions and make comments about the project.
  4. To develop a clear understanding of the four distinct components of the project (1) Air Quality, (2) Cafeteria/Performing Arts Renovation, (3) Athletic Fields, and (4) Gymnasium.

AGENDA

  1. Welcome and Introductions
  2. Overview of School Board Vision
  3. Maine Department of Education Revolving Renovation Fund Air Quality Project
  4. Cafeteria, Stage, and Performing Arts Renovation
  5. Athletic Fields
  6. Gymnasium
  7. Question and Answer Period

Architectural and Design Presenters
Don Bresnahan, BiMS (Building Infrastructure Management)
Steve Ferguson, BiMS Consultant
Ben Gleason, Activitas Landscape Architects
Mike Johaning, WBRC, Inc. (Facilities Design)

These two meetings will offer the most comprehensive, detailed view of the proposed project. It is a prime opportunity for the community to learn about the bond project and the impact it can have on student education for decades. Both meetings have an identical agenda. People can participate in the meeting that is most convenient for them.

I look forward to seeing you later this month.
