RE: MSAD 15 Budget Referendum Recount
On June 11, 2024, the MSAD 15 Budget Referendum took place. The results of the vote were:
— YES: 1,118
— NO: 1,109
At its June 12, 2024, meeting, the MSAD 15 School Board computed the results of the Budget Validation Referendum on June 11, 2024, as certified by Town Managers of Gray and New Gloucester.
On June 24, 2024, the Superintendent’s Office received a petition with 231 signatures asking to “conduct a recount of all in-person and absentee ballots submitted during the MSAD 15 School Budget Warrant voting June 11, 2024.” The Town Clerks of New Gloucester and Gray verified the signatures.
MSAD 15 is developing processes and procedures as prescribed by state law to conduct a recount of the budget referendum. The school district is working with the towns of Gray and New Gloucester to ensure a smooth, transparent, and legal process. Once the process is established, MSAD 15 will inform the public of date, time, location, and other details.
