The 7th annual Gray Wild Blueberry Festival takes place Saturday, August 12 from 9 am to 3 pm.  This one-day event runs rain or shine at 24 Main Street at Pennell Park and Newbegin Hall in Gray. Parking is across the street in the big field.

This annual Town event – Celebrating Community & Culture – will feature over 75 vendors, community and school groups, local businesses, and a farmers’ market plus.… a Master Beekeeper, a robot, the Southern Maine Model Railroad Club, blacksmithing, a family of chainsaw woodcarvers, a caricature artist, a henna artist, fire trucks, our mascots Barnabee and Bluebell, and a photo opportunity sitting inside the ‘bee-barrels.’

There will also be Kids’ Tent activities, inflatables, a dunk tank, and tie-dyeing. Top off the day by enjoying the sweet and savory food court, live music on the lawn, and pints of fresh wild Maine blueberries and homemade pies for sale.

Always a good time, this year’s Festival contests include a Spelling Bee, Pie Eating Contests, the Wild Blueberry Dessert Bake-Off, Social or Competitive Corn Hole Tournaments, and 3-on-3 Basketball Tournaments.
