Simple Bookbinding Workshop

In the early 19th century, the Shakers produced many of their own books using simple bookbinding techniques.

Artist and instructor Bonnie Faulkner has been journaling for over 45 years and makes each journal unique.  Bonnie will teach participants how to make a personal journal using some traditional book binding techniques.  Whether its for writing, drawing or watercolor painting your journal will be custom made by you!  The journals will have a soft, breakable spine so the book, open, lays flat and will include a pocket or envelope for slips of paper, mementos, collage pieces, photos, or lists.  You’ll be sewing, gluing, measuring and folding to create your journals.

If you took the morning gel printing class, you will have some gorgeous paper to use for covers!

All materials are provided. If you have some special paper or collage items feel free to bring them along.
