Welcoming the holiday season

New Gloucester officially kicked off the holiday season over the weekend, as neighbors gathered for tree lightings, holiday cheer and giving.

Festivities began Saturday in the Upper Village with a tree lighting that honored veterans, then moved to the Town Hall Complex on Sunday. Along with the lighting of Tiny Timber, visitors enjoyed the History Barn, cookies and hot cocoa at the Library, and the opportunity to help others through donations. — Joanne Cole
