Wednesday Walkers head to Chandler Mill Pond and Little Hill

Chandler Mill Pond in autumn

We had a lovely walk along the Royal River last time, thanks to Yvette and Frank Knight.  Their trails provided an easy walk in the budding woods and we enjoyed the many fresh green colors of the season.

Our next low-impact walk/hike will be Wednesday, May 25, 10 am, at Chandler Mill Pond and Little Hill in New Gloucester. From New Gloucester’s Upper Village head northwest on Bald Hill Road from Route 100. Continue straight for 0.3 miles. Turn left on Snow Hill Road for 1 mile. The turnoff to Chandler Mill Pond’s boat access parking lot will be on your left, soon after the Turnpike overpass.  You can find more information here.   Ticks and other bugs are out in force so please dress and prepare accordingly.

On another note, the group decided we would walk at Pineland on Wednesday, June 1, and have a picnic gathering after our walk for those who are interested.

See you on the trail,
Anne Maurice
