This past week we had a good walk on the Griffin’s Trail at the Poland Spring Preserve. Diantha Grant took a good picture at the Lower Range Pond intersect (see below). The trail had some ups and downs and provided for some good exercise. Diantha is a docent at the Poland Spring water museum and she graciously gave us a tour – great way to end the morning – thanks, Diantha.
The group didn’t really decide on a trail for this week so let’s go back to the Great Falls Preserve at the end of Woodman Road in New Gloucester. We’ve been on the lake side of town for a few weeks – time to go to another area. I think this will be the last week of good color before the leaves come down so maybe we’ll be able to enjoy some along the trail, especially where the trail comes to the waterfalls. Find a link for directions here .
Please be prepared for the trail terrain which will have leaves and roots along the way. Wearing orange this time of year is a good practice. Stay safe and keep walking,
Anne Maurice
