Twelve of us braved the threat of rain on the 3rd and were treated to a roaring Aurelia Cascades on the Shaker property. We continued on to Sabbathday Lake and followed the trail along the lake to Sister Jennie’s cabin. Though the terrain was somewhat wet and muddy, we all were glad to be outside after all the rain from the days before.
Our next walk on Wednesday, May 10th, at 10 am will be at Big Falls Preserve at the end of Woodman Road, New Gloucester. Directions and a description of the trail can be found at here on the Trails, Trailhead, and Accessibility section.
Come prepared for walking on an uneven trail surface and for black flies and other bugs, including ticks.
