Wednesday Walk at Shaker Road on March 12

I was hoping for one more winter walk in the woods, but our current weather pattern looks like we will have to stay on roads for a few weeks.  We stayed mostly dry for last week’s trek at Range Pond State Park – a light rain started when we neared our cars.  We all enjoyed being outside on a snow mobile packed trail.

We are going to stay on a very safe, low traffic road this week.  Let’s walk Shaker Road through the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village (707 Shaker Road).  Let’s meet on Wednesday, March 12th, at 10 a.m. at the dead end section of Shaker Road (old Route 26) at the intersection of Outlet Road and Route 26 in New Gloucester.  There is plenty of parking and from there we will proceed up the road that dissects Shaker Village.  The 2 mile walk will give us some uphill and downhill exercise.

Good walking shoes and clothes for the weather will work for this week.

Stay safe and active,
Anne Maurice
