We had a beautiful walk at Poland Springs last week enjoying the sun and blue sky in contrast to the powdery, white snow. It was a good trek downhill and uphill and Frank Knight clocked us at 1.9 miles. A few of us went over to the GNG Community Café afterwards and met some new folks at the lunch.
For this week, Pineland will probably be a safe bet with all the rain we’ve had recently. Let’s meet on the 18th, 10 am at the parking lot near the Conference Center, bldg. 19 – brick building facing Route 231/Intervale Road. You can find the Pineland map on the visitor’s guide here.
For those interested in pickle ball, several in our group are planning to meet at the Pineland Outdoor and Fitness Center (old Y) on Friday, January 20 at 9 am to play. It is a beginner, non-competitive group just out to have some fun. Please join if interested.
Just a reminder to dress for the weather and the walking conditions of the day.
One of our walkers passed on a tip – keep your ID on you when you walk in case of an emergency since we don’t always know each other well.
Have a good week. Stay safe and keep active.
