Warming Shelter Update – Friday Feb. 3

We are prepared to open a warming shelter today [Friday] if a community need arises. The warming shelter, if opened, will be located at the AMVETS at 1095 Lewiston Road, following our plan that was set up earlier this week. If there is a need overnight, our department has an emergency operations plan to follow to ensure the safety of our community members.

The warming shelter at the AMVETS will open tomorrow morning [Saturday] from 8am until noon. If there is still a community need, the warming shelter will stay open longer as needed.

We would like to thank the AMVETS who, like the last storm, worked in coordination with the our Emergency Management staff and Town staff to serve the public. We would also like to thank volunteers and department members who are ready to assist at a moment’s notice.

If you, a loved one, a neighbor, or anybody in our community need assistance, call our station at 926-4142 and our staff can assist you. If there is an emergency, please call 911.

Friday evening update: Our normal business line is down. To reach the fire station, please use 207-926-4962.
