“Village Path,” “360 review,” budget info on Dec. 2 Select Board agenda

At their December 2 meeting, the Select Board will return to several recent topics and take up a few new ones. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Meetinghouse and will be live-streamed at this link.

Follow-up items on the agenda include these:

the “Village Path” trail proposed between the Town Hall Complex and Church Road; find comments from the town attorney, maps and draft easement at pp.63-69 of the meeting agenda packet;

— edits to the board’s draft “360 review” document for evaluating the town manager; find the current version at pp.57-62;

— setting up a session with assessor Mike O’Donnell to discuss the expiration of the Pineland TIF and its impacts;

— next steps for planning services for the Town. With the planner position vacant since late August, Manager Bill Kerbin has been exploring options.

Among new-ish December 2 topics are

— whether to share budget planning documents electronically and how the public might get information and offer input during the budget process. Currently, Finance Committee members get budget binders, a public hearing occurs late in the process, and budget information is not posted online;

— whether to set up town email accounts for members of boards and committees in lieu of personal accounts; and

— details about a capital request for a mower for the cemeteries (pp.70-71).

The board also has a detailed update from the Economic and Community Development Committee, including the results of the New Gloucester Age-Friendly community survey on housing, transportation, public spaces and services, community engagement and much more (pp.4-52)

Public comments may be submitted by email before 10 a.m. on Monday, December 2, to townmanager@newgloucester.com and smyers@newgloucester.com. If you want your written comment read aloud, please indicate that in the subject line.
