We enjoyed a late fall walk on the other Elmwood Trail this past week, the one on the opposite side of the road from the parking lot. It is not as rigorous as the trail on the parking lot side, but it is well marked and leads to a good-sized bridge over Chandler Brook. We decided it is one to keep on our list of trails for future outings.
On Wednesday, October 30th, we will meet at 10 a.m. to walk one of the trails at the Poland Spring Preservation Park. The address is 37 Preservation Way, Poland Spring, ME. Turning off from Route 26 in Poland for the Poland Spring Inn, go up the hill towards the Inn and keep going past the chapel on your right and under the iron gate at the top of the hill. Proceed down the hill to the parking lot on the right where the trail sign stands. There is information about the trails here.
This hike is in the woods and does have some inclines. Please come prepared for the walking conditions and the weather.
Stay active and safe,
Anne Maurice
