Our maiden hike on the Elmwood Trails proved to be a terrific find for our
group. The new parking area is easy to locate and the trail that connects
to the Lawrence Road parking is well marked and maintained. It has varied
terrain, interesting rock walls and follows Chandler Brook for part of the
way. We enjoyed some late fall colors as we explored the pathway.
There is another trail from the same parking lot across Elmwood Road and we are going to try this new trail next. On Wednesday, October 23, 10 am, we
will meet at the trailhead parking area at 819 Elmwood Road, Pownal, at 10
am. Parking is a little tight so if you can carpool with someone, it will
