A small group trekked the trail on the Poland Preserved Conservation Land last week. We got a little turned around because some of the trail markers had been removed, but we easily found our way back to the cars. The trailhead is across the street from Poland Provisions so we all opted in for some social time.
On Wednesday June 25, let’s meet at 10 a.m. on Outlet Road in New Gloucester, about halfway up the hill from Outlet Beach. Parking will be on the side of the road and we will head to Aurelia Cascades on an old logging road and then we’ll follow the Shaker trail. The logging road will most likely have some tall grass. The trail itself is easy and provides some good views of Sabbathday Lake.
Please come prepared for the weather (hopefully the heat dome will be gone by Wednesday morning), the terrain and the bugs.
