Range Pond State Park offered us a nice walk last week. Twelve of us walked an unplowed road to a wooded trail along the shore of Lower Range Pond. The path was snow packed but not slippery. It was great to get outside after the all the grey weather days we’ve had this month.
Our next walking adventure will take us to Pineland Public Reserved Land. We will meet Wednesday, January 31st at 10 a.m. at the trailhead on Depot Road, New Gloucester. FMI visit Maine Trail Finder: Pineland Public Reserved Land. We will walk the trail that crosses Depot Road and is mostly flat.
I expect we will be on packed snow with some icy spots. Ice grippers or snow shoes might be a good idea to bring along, in case.
Stay safe and keep active,
Anne Maurice
