Our Shaker Bog walk last week was peaceful and shady once we crossed Maine Street (Route 26). We enjoyed the easy trek along the bog, and many commented on how much water there was for this time of the year.
Our next walk will be on Wednesday, August 2, 10 a.m. to Aurelia Cascades on the Shaker property. After we cross the Cascades, we will follow the trail along Sabbathday Lake which loops back to the brook. We will meet at Barefoot Beach on Outlet Road in New Gloucester. Parking will be along the road on the lake side. Please watch for traffic as you cross the road.
Come prepared for walking in the woods with tree roots and bugs.
