Trail walk from Libby Hill Forest to Thayer Brook Preserve Wed. Feb. 1

We had a good-sized group hiking Libby Hill last week.  It was a bit of an uphill climb but a nice winter walk with mild weather for January.

It looks like Wednesday’s weather will have sun with some cold temperatures.  Let’s meet on Wednesday February 1st, 10 am at the parking lot for the Libby Hill Forest Trails at 50 Libby Hill Road, which is across from the Gray Hannaford.  Elaine checked out the parking at Ramsdell Road for the Thayer Brook Preserve (where the group planned to meet) and there is no place to park.  The information on the Royal River Conservation Trust says the Ramsdell Road parking area will not be plowed during the winter 2023.

So let’s start from the same place as last week, the Libby Hill Forest parking, and try to hike to Thayer Brook from there.  You can find information here by looking at the section titled “Trails, Trailheads and Accessibility” for a description of the trail and parking situation at Thayer Brook Preserve.

Please dress for the weather and the walking conditions of the day.

Have a good week.  Stay safe and keep active.
