Pisgah Hill provided the group with a 1.75 mile hiking loop with ups and downs as well as a creative cairns garden along the path.
We decided to hike the Talking Brook Public Land accessed from the Big Falls Preserve parking area on Woodman Road, on Wednesday, August 30, at 10 a.m. The trail follows a waterway and has roots, rocks, and probably some muddy spots. You can get more information here.
Looking ahead, we’re going to try a combination kayak-and-hike event on Sept. 6. Hikers and kayakers will meet at Outlet Beach on Sabbathday Lake. The kayakers will launch from the boat launch and the hikers will hike the Shaker Trail. With any luck, the hikers and kayakers will meet up around Sister Jennie’s cabin for a rendezvous. We’ll share more information next week.
