The Town of New Gloucester Municipal Officers and Town Manager were informed last night that an LGBTQ pride flag was burned at a private residence. Although on private property, we still take a stance to speak out on such an outrageous and abhorrent action. The Municipal Officers and Town Manager strongly condemn this action and find this totally opposite to the values of the Town of New Gloucester. Furthermore, the Town unequivocally wants to send a message that this type of hateful and discriminatory behavior is not welcomed in New Gloucester.
As we have stated before and will continue to state, the Town of New Gloucester is committed to a diverse and all-inclusive community. Law enforcement has been notified and we as a Town will work to elevate and set a foundation for inclusivity in all we do.
