Town closes Community Building, local cases rise

A message posted Friday afternoon on the town website announced that the Community Building will be closed until December 4 and Town Hall may soon move to appointment-only. Here’s the full message:

“Due to a recent Positive COVID-19 result by someone associated with the Community Center Kids Club program, the Community Center will be closed November 30 thru December 4th! The Town Hall may also be closing to the public and returning to “by appointment only” in the near future.”

Local case numbers continue to rise. According to Maine CDC data by zip code, New Gloucester’s cumulative confirmed and probable cases reached 24 as of November 22, up from 17 the previous week.
