Stevens Brook has been one of most used fire ponds in New Gloucester. It serves a large portion of the town that has a more dense population and many historic buildings. It is well worth our tax dollars to replace the dam for fire suppression and also for the historic fishing pond it has been for our youth. We should be grateful for the land owner allowing the pond to exist. I encourage everyone to favor replacing the dam.
