Re: Teacher Appreciation Week

Teachers are key members of the community whom our families depend upon to look out for the scholastic and social well-being of our young people. When it comes down to it, teaching is much more than just a job. Becoming a teacher means making a difference in the lives of young people and helping them learn lessons that will last a lifetime. For many teachers, the small intangible rewards are some of the best parts of the job. Receiving a simple thank you from a student, a former student, a parent, or an administrator is a valuable, intangible reward that all teachers appreciate.

The week of May 3, 2021 is National Teacher Appreciation Week. I invite all community members to remember a current or former teacher by offering them a simple thank you for being an educator who made a difference.
