Collaborative. Effective. Enterprising.
These are all apt adjectives to describe Carolyn (“Connie”) Justice who is running for a seat on the New Gloucester Select Board.
Connie currently chairs the town’s Economic and Community Development Committee. As such, she collaborates with several entities to fulfill the committee’s mission statement.
Additionally, she serves effectively as a member of the Land Management Planning Committee (formerly Zoning Board) tasked with developing long-range growth management strategies, among other endeavors.
Following in a similar vein, she focuses on long-term planning as a member of the Adhoc Municipal Complex Advisory Committee.
I feel fortunate to work with her on our town’s age-friendly group “BLING,” which stands for Building Livability in New Gloucester. I have a front-row seat to witness her enterprising skills in turning shared visions into tangible results.
Two examples quickly come to mind. She helped coordinate a free program with the town’s fire department and the Red Cross to install smoke alarms in the homes of those who requested them. Currently, she heads up New Gloucester Rides, a volunteer transportation program providing free rides to medical and dental appointments for NG citizens 50+ years old, or with disabilities.
Our town would greatly benefit by electing Connie Justice to the Select Board on Tuesday, June 10, or by absentee ballot.
