Colleen Strickler won a three-year term on the New Gloucester Select Board, defeating incumbent Peter Bragdon by a margin of 351 to 293 in Tuesday’s municipal election. It was Strickler’s first run for the office.
Incumbent Gary Harriman, who ran unopposed, will return to the MSAD 15 School Board for another three-year term. Norm Chamberlain won a seat as Water District Trustee in the closest of votes. All six Water District vote-getters were write-ins; 11 votes were cast.
New Gloucester residents overwhelmingly approved the MSAD 15 budget, voting 451-204 in support. Gray voters rejected the budget 512 to 474, not a large enough margin to defeat it. District-wide, the tally was 925 to 716 for passage.
