Sheriff’s Office calls for service, October 2025

Wendy Clark, our correspondent at the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, has retired, and they are in the process of hiring a replacement. In the meantime, we thank Lt. James Estabrook for sending this.

There were 164 calls for service in New Gloucester from October 1- October 28. The largest number of incidents were traffic violations (18), property checks (16), agency assistance (14), accidents with property damage (12), and attempts to locate (10).

“Attempt to locate” means that CCSO officers have been asked to try to track down someone who has entered New Gloucester from another town, such as a driver who has come from Auburn. Property checks are regularly conducted by officers, mostly checking out properties/ buildings to ensure they are secure.

Here’s the complete list of October calls.
