Select board to discuss budget process Wed. April 22

The select board will convene a special meeting on Wednesday April 22 at 6 pm via the online platform Zoom.  The meeting will include a public comment period.

Among items on the board’s April 22 agenda is the budget process, likely including discussion of the role, if any, of the budget committee through the remainder of this budget cycle. The budget committee had been about to hold a public hearing on its draft budget–proposing cuts to fire/rescue and opposing the select board’s recommended cuts to library hours and staff–when the coronavirus outbreak suspended in-person public meetings. The committee has not convened since.

The FY21 municipal budget, including a new round of proposed cuts, and the budget committee and budget process were the focus of a select board workshop on April 15, the first held via Zoom.  Video of the April 15 workshop can be viewed here

The board’s April 22 meeting will be followed by a workshop.
