Select Board November 15 meeting preview

At its Monday November 15 meeting, the select board will open updated bids to demolish the old Public Works building, review long-term paving and vehicle/equipment replacement plans, and more. The meeting begins at 7 pm at the Meetinghouse and will be broadcast on NGTV and live-streamed at this link

Among other agenda action items, the board is slated to

— consider revised bids for demolition and disposal of the old Public Works building in the Upper Village. Plans for disposal of demolition materials have changed since initially bid;

— consider adopting as working documents proposed long-term vehicle and equipment replacement schedules for Fire Rescue, Public Works, and the Transfer Station. These schedules, which include cost estimates, typically inform annual capital budget discussions;

— consider adopting as a working document a proposed road-by-road, year-by-year paving plan, through 2040;

— consider whether the Environmental Resources Committee should undertake an assessment of energy/solar needs for town buildings;

— consider a proposed Memorandum of Understanding between the Library Trustees and the Friends of the Library that outlines goals, roles, responsibilities and other terms;

— discuss whether to direct the Town Manager to discuss with political leaders the policy mandating vaccination of first responders.

The full meeting agenda and supporting documents, including the vehicle and equipment schedules, paving plan, library Memorandum of Understanding, and department heads’ monthly reports, can be found in the agenda packet at this link.
