Select board July 19 agenda

The select board returns to the Meetinghouse on Monday July 19 after skipping a turn for the July 4 holiday. The meeting begins at 7 pm and will be live-streamed on Town Hall Streams at this link.

The agenda includes a mix of immediate and longer-term items. Among them:

  • bid openings for a new public works dump truck and associated plow and sander gear
  • award of the contract to pave Swamp Road, Megquier Road, Chestnut Common, and Town Farm Road
  • a proposal to change the transfer station Saturday hours to 8 am to 4 pm, instead of the current 9 to 5
  • a memorandum of understanding between the select board and library board of trustees that clarifies roles and goals
  • a draft policy on remote participation at public meetings, post-pandemic
  • discussion of guidance and rules regarding the American Rescue Plan Act funds for New Gloucester ($580,000 anticipated)
  • a possible goal-setting workshop for the board to address pending long-term projects

The board will convene as assessors at the start of the meeting to tend to technical paperwork as town manager Christine Landes formally assumes tax collector duties from Brenda Fox-Howard.
