The Biodiversity Research Institute came to Sabbathday Lake on Tuesday, June 4, to weigh, measure and band the single eaglet that is now 7 weeks old. The director of the Raptor Program and his team coordinated their visit with Diantha Grant, who monitors the eagles throughout the year. She and her husband, Don, had the thrill of holding the eaglet!
Based in Portland, the Biodiversity Research Institute is a nonprofit that works closely with Maine Audubon. BRI’s stated mission is to assess emerging threats to wildlife and ecosystems through collaborative research.
