New Gloucester was graced with Lado’s choice to live in our town. He was a busy, busy man and devoted many hours getting his four boys to school and activities. And yet he still found time to contribute to his adopted hometown. On the Economic Development Committee, Lado listened quietly and then brought forth fresh and practical ideas. He loved walking through the Pineland campus, and he wanted visitors to know that Pineland is in New Gloucester. So, we tackled getting Welcome to New Gloucester signs on Route 231 – not quite accomplished yet. When we asked ourselves how the EDC could best serve the town, he said, “We have to find out from the people what they want.” In other words, we shouldn’t guess. Lado had just been elected Chair of the EDC, and the year ahead was rich with promise under his stewardship. Losing this kind and wise man in such a tragic accident leaves us all bereft. May we all support his family.
