On Sunday, June 8, the Friends of the New Gloucester Library held their bi-annual Book & Bake Sale. Even with sunny skies tempting folks outdoors, neighbors and friends turned out in droves to browse a wide selection of books and sample a tempting variety of homemade baked treats.
Newly elected treasurer Samantha Hopta stepped right into action, warmly welcoming buyers at the register. Meanwhile, Heather Heston and the bake sale committee offered up an impressive spread of goodies. After the event, Book Sale co-chairs Annemarie Salzberg and Laura Ingalls shared the exciting news: this was the most successful sale in the event’s history.

That achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the tireless efforts of volunteers who spent months gathering, sorting, and preparing books ahead of the sale. The Friends are always looking for new helping hands—join us next time and be part of the fun!
Clearing out your bookshelves? Save your gently used books for the Friends’ next sale! There are three upcoming designated drop-off days at the library. Visit our website for dates and details: https://www.friendsnewgloucesterlibrary.org/upcoming-events.
Save the Date: The next Book & Bake Sale will take place on Sunday, September 14. Early access begins at 11:00 AM for members, with general admission starting at noon.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a wonderful success!
