Pownal & Durham residents welcome at NG Public Library

Carla McAllister, Assistant Librarian

As the towns of Pownal and Durham do not have public libraries, we here at NGPL are happy to extend to our neighboring towns the use of our library at no cost. Please spread the work.

We also extend cards at no fee to folks who work in the town of New Gloucester but may live outside of town.

You may not know that we have several passes, some are free passes and some are discounted, available here at the library thanks to our Friends of the Library group. Additionally, we facilitate for the Parks and Rec Department the loans of canoes, kayaks, paddles and personal flotation devices which are at the New Gloucester Fairgrounds and are to be used on the Royal River there. Pickleball has become a huge sport and we have equipment to loan out so that you might try out this fun pastime, perhaps at our Rowe Station Fields tennis courts. You need not be a patron of NGPL or a citizen of New Gloucester to make use of the passes, canoes and kayaks, or Pickleball equipment. Please call us at 926-4840 for further information and have a wonderful summer.
