What to do when there’s no snow…

This winter started off strong with an early December snow storm but as we all know January has been a bit of a disappointment for us snow lovers. Luckily, there is still plenty of winter ahead of us and we are optimistic for another great winter of skiing, snowshoeing & sledding.

In the meantime, the temperatures have been perfect for our ice skating rink, the snow globes have been a hit, both disc golf courses are back open and all of our trails are open to hiking & fat biking (fat bike rentals at the Outdoor Center). Another fun activity available, that we usually only offer in the summer months, is orienteering. Orienteering is a fun navigational sport for friends and family. It requires a map, which can be picked up at the Outdoor Center, and a compass. We have the largest orienteering course in Maine with 2500 acres currently mapped out. Call the Outdoor Center at 207.688.6599 for more information.

Our February programming is also scheduled and can be found on our event calendar on the pinelandfarms.org website. We’re looking forward to a fun February Vacation. That week only, we’ll be offering “Choose Your Own Farm Adventure Activities” during our normal 2 Hour Farm Visits. Space is limited on the farm so reserve soon.
