November Highlights from the New Gloucester Xchange Event Calendar

It’s November, which means Election Day is just around the corner. Don’t forget to vote! Polls in New Gloucester will be open from 6am-8pm on Tuesday, November 5. Voting is held at the New Gloucester Fire Station.

Other events happening this month include the Age Friendly New Gloucester Vaccine Clinic on Nov. 20, administering the 2024-25 COVID-19 and Flu vaccines at the Community Building.

The Village Coffeehouse returns on Nov. 2 with a toe-tapping night of R&B, blues, classic rock and swing featuring Delta Knights.

There are a couple informational sessions taking place in November: Southern Maine Agency on Aging presents a seminar on Medicare options on Nov. 6. And Adult Ed is hosting National Service Through AmeriCorps: Informational Workshop on Nov. 12.

On Nov. 24, Patriot Parents PTO is hosting the Project Graduation Turkey Trot to support the Gray-New Gloucester High School Class of 2025. The Turkey Trot is a 5k run/walk event with a free kids fun run for ages 10 and under.

Brickyard Hollow continues their Thursday night Trivia Nights, and regular music—this month includes Brian Walker, Jonah Bruce, Andy Rice, Xander Nelson, Graci Gillen, and Pat Sylvia.

GNG Rec is continuing to offer chair yoga, drop-in gymnastics, and the monthly Community Cafe.

Pineland Farms has additional recreational opportunities for the whole family. Adults can enjoy pickleball, basketball, and disc golf, plus a cheese making tour and free kimchi tasting.  For the little ones, there are farmyard storytimes, Friday farmers, and butter making.

The library hosts regular storytime for the youngest kids plus plenty of craft opportunities for older crowds:  early release crafternoons for school aged kids, crafty teens, adult craft club, and the fiber arts club.

Additional crafting opportunities are provided by Gray-New Gloucester Adult Education. This month’s offerings include wood sign painting, Fall Decorated Dough Bowl Candles & Glass Jar Lanterns, and a Balsam Fir Ball Workshop.

Royal River Conservation Trust is hosting no-cost, family-friendly nature walks on weekend days this fall and winter. Two walks are scheduled during November with Master Naturalist Marie Camillo Reimensnyder: Four Senses Nature Walk on Nov. 17 and a Gratitude Walk on Nov. 24.
