NGXchange is proud to highlight positive stories about the people and places in New Gloucester, including through our NG at Work profile series, featuring local businesses. Read on below about how to share your business in NG at Work.
For the next piece in our NG at Work series, we are delighted to present Victoria Alyssa Creative.
Your name and your business’s name?
Victoria Burnette of Victoria Alyssa Creative
Where are you located?
I work out of my home in New Gloucester but do photo shoots at various locations in the community, like Pineland Farms and Evermore Studios in Gray.

Tell us a bit about your business—what do you do, what do you offer?
I’m a local Maine photographer offering family, branding, portrait, lifestyle and event/wedding photography.
How many years have you been in New Gloucester?
I’ve been working as a photographer since 2015. My business came to New Gloucester in 2019.
How many people are employed by your business?
One.
What brought you to New Gloucester?
I grew up coming to New Gloucester to visit my grandparents’ farm, the Merribrook Farm (now Flying Goat Farm) on Intervale Road, and my Aunt Barbie (Barbara Seaver)! My husband and I moved here in 2019 to enjoy the peaceful countryside we both loved growing up.

What are three things you wish people in New Gloucester knew about your business?
1. My variety of styles of photography offered, such as wedding and events. While most of my New Gloucester clients are family sessions, I would love to break into the wedding market with local New Gloucester venues!
2. My ties to this community go back further than the five years I’ve lived here. My father grew up here on my grandparents’ farm. One of Papa Brookie’s tractors even sits right at Thompson’s Orchard!
3. That I’m here and would love to work with more people and businesses in our community.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your work?
Getting that “perfect picture” which tend to be the candid ones where everyone is laughing and smiling. I like to make my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera and allow them to be themselves and have fun!
What is the most challenging aspect of your work?
Taking opportunities like these to market my business locally. A large chunk of my clientele still comes from the Portland and Saco areas.

Tell us about your hopes/dreams for the future—what do you hope your business will look like a few years from now?
A few years from now I hope to continue to see my business grow. Starting a family I’m lucky to be able to work part-time to spend time with my children. But, as they grow I hope to one day be full-time.
How can the New Gloucester community support you and your business?
Keep me in mind for your photography needs! I would love to drop off cards at any business that would allow me to put them out. I’m also open to trade with other local businesses! And if you don’t have any photography needs, please keep me in mind if any of your friends or family do!
How can people learn more and stay connected with you?
You can find my business online through my website, Instagram, and Facebook. Victoria Alyssa Creative!
Any last words/final comments?
I hope to reach some new community members! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the services I provide.
