Are you moved by the spoken word – poetry? A short short-story or essay? A soliloquy from Shakespeare, etc.? A famous speech? Something from your bookshelf, found online, or something written by yourself or a friend? Come share it in a comfortable space with friends and neighbors. Refreshments will be available.
Re Performing – Open to all word-lovers from 12 years old up.
- You Must Register by Tuesday, April 23 (see last section below).
- You may perform multiple short pieces as long as the entire performances runs no longer than 10 minutes – please time your rehearsals.
- Title and Author must be clearly announced as you begin.
- A microphone and chair or stool will be available (you don’t have to use either as long as we all can hear and see you.)
- Arrive at the Barn by 6 PM with one extra copy of any original work you will be sharing, and we will set the order of performances and do some nerve-quieting.
Re Attending
- Doors will open for seating at 6:30 PM
- Anyone who wishes to make videos or take pictures must do so from the very back or very sides of the room, so as not to distract performers or audience.
