I can not imagine why anyone would choose neon green for the transfer station sign. It is hideous and an eyesore to the beautiful landscape of New Gloucester. The town dump is certainly not a large tourist attraction. The sign is also an embarrassment to the town. I have heard many comments and jokes about the sign from friends from other towns. I hope that it is not going to be a trend for future town signs. Certainly a more subtle color would be much more appropriate. I don’t know how much the sign cost but I think the town should consider replacing it since it is such an eyesore.
