New board will elect chair and vice chair, open bids at June 16 meeting

Each year, newly elected Select Board members start their new terms at the first meeting after the June election. This year, two first-time members will be joining the board: Connie Justice and Rachel Lyn Rumson. The June 16 agenda includes electing a chair and vice chair for the coming year and determining which members will serve as liaisons to which town committees and boards.

Other agenda items include bid openings for items approved at Town Meeting in May: a UTV for Fire Rescue, Tank 2 refurb work, a new mower for the Cemetery Association and a tractor-mower for Buildings and Grounds. Find the RFPs for those items at pp. 29-43 of the meeting agenda packet.

With Public Works Director Ted Shane retiring, the board will return to a now-revised job description for the position (pp. 72-80). In a memo, Shane explained the rationale behind the truck specs, a question from the June 2 meeting. The board will also clarify the scope of proposedd FY26 paving and chip seal work.
