MSAD 15 will have a remote learning day tomorrow, Thursday, February 6. Principals will send follow up communications to remind all students and families about expectations for the remote learning day tomorrow. Please reach out to them or your teacher(s) if you have additional questions about that guidance. All afterschool activities scheduled for tomorrow are cancelled.
The timing of the snow and the predicted accumulation would make it difficult to have an early release or half day. I’m concerned we would not be able to get all students home before the worst starts. Not all area districts have remote learning as an option right now. Many district storm plans require a requisite number of storm days before they can use a remote option. Given that we have the option to have a remote day, it makes the most sense to use it and keep students and staff safe and learning at home tomorrow.
It is not predicted that tomorrow’s storm will bring widespread power or internet outages. However, if outages occur over night tonight and it appears the majority of MSAD 15 students would not be able to access remote learning, I will send an email, text, and phone call by 6:00 AM to have a full storm day instead. If you do not receive an additional communication from me, then the remote learning day plan will stand.
Thanks,
Chanda
