As spring approaches, there is plenty to do in New Gloucester this month!

March begins with a few opportunities to enjoy live music – Xander Nelson will play rock and blues at Brickyard Hollow (Mar. 1), The Village Coffeehouse hosts the Time Zone Trio, playing a mix of musical traditions (Mar. 1), and the Pineland Market dips into the music scene with folk from Katie McShane & Jesse Heasly (Mar. 2). Later in the month, YARD SAUCE will play a concert at Shaker Village (Mar. 15).

There are many opportunities for recreation around town! Gray-New Gloucester Rec is hosting a wide range of events for adults including the Puzzle Portal and a special event on predators with Chewonki. It is also partnering with the GNG Connectors to host coffee hours. You can also get outside with Pineland Farms as they host a Full Moon Snowshoe Hike and a Full Moon Ski Tour on March 14. Pineland also continues regular programs like Farmyard Storytime, Friday Farmers, Afternoon at the Equestrian Center, and more.

The New Gloucester Public Library continues to offer storytime on Sunday and Wednesday mornings, and with help from the Friends of the New Gloucester Public Library are planning a children’s pop-up sale with books, puzzles and games for kids on Sunday, March 9. The library also offers adult programming this month including an Adult Craft Club, Fiber Arts Club, Adult Coloring, and a speaker visit with Daniel Mays of Frith Farm.

March is maple sugaring season and there are a few local opportunities to get your maple syrup fix. Pineland Farms offers four dates to join an educational program about maple sugaring and will have a free tasting with Lone Pine Brewery on Maple Sunday. Royal River Orchards invites you to visit for their Annual Maine Maple producers pancake breakfast.
