For about two hours last Thursday (January 18), a K9 team on foot searched the Lower Village neighborhood, along with an unmarked car, and state and county cruisers.
NGX asked the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office for information and they explained that the search was for “a male subject who was found at a location from which he was prohibited by court order. When deputies attempted to make contact, he fled and a search ensued. The male is still at large, and therefore his name and further information will remain confidential. The public is not in any danger and a warrant is being procured. “

While there was no apparent danger, this incident raises a question for the Town about how residents would be notified in the case of an emergency situation.
