“Maine Horses: Then and Now” will be the focus of a talk by David Jefferson, DVM, on Thursday September 15 at the Meetinghouse. The talk begins at 7 p.m. and is sponsored by the New Gloucester Historical Society.

Dr. Jefferson will share tales from his five decades as a horse veterinarian in Maine and will sketch the changing picture of horses here and across the country over the centuries.

A longtime New Gloucester resident, Jefferson owned Maine Equine Associates, an ambulatory equine practice that served the region. In recent years he taught large animal medicine at York County Community College.

Since retiring from active practice, Jefferson has published three books and is at work on a fourth. Clearly, he has stories to share!

Please join friends and neighbors for this entertaining and informative talk, Thursday September 15 at 7 p.m. at the New Gloucester Meetinghouse, 389 Intervale Road.
