Maine champs take part in opening ceremony for Little League World Series

The Gray-New Gloucester/Raymond Little League All Star team will be stepping up to the plate on Thursday for game one of the Little League World Series.

The Maine stars will battle the Northwest regional champs from Seattle, Washington, on Thursday at 3 p.m. in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The opening ceremony for the Little League World Series was held on Wednesday at 11:15 a.m.

The Gray-New Gloucester/Raymond Little League All-Star team advanced to the Little League World Series after defeating Massachusetts 2-1 on Aug. 10.

The Maine all stars swept their way to the Little League World Series. with three consecutive wins at the New England Regionals.

These young men have powered their way to Williamsport with outstanding pitching defense and timely hitting.

There are 10 teams from the United States and 10 international teams all vying to be the Little League World Series champion.

The boys from Gray-New Gloucester/Raymond feel like they’ve got a great chance.

The Gray-New Gloucester/Raymond team is the first Maine team to advance to the Little League World Series since Westbrook in 2005.
