Library proposal, Zoom/hybrid meetings policy, Covid-19 policy, Complete Streets and Connectivity proposal, and more at Select Board January 24

The Select Board will meet on Monday January 24 to consider a range of new and returning matters. The meeting begins at 7 pm in the Meetinghouse and will be broadcast on NGTV and live-streamed on Town Hall Streams at this link.

Among new matters for the board:

— a comprehensive proposal for the library from Library Director Jay Campbell concerning the library’s needs and usage and new recommendations for its weekly schedule, staffing, and access to other libraries’ holdings. Find the details at pp. 6-22 of the agenda packet at this link; and

— a Complete Streets and Connectivity proposal that follows up on Comprehensive Plan goals to make the community’s streets and roadways safer and more accessible for users of all ages and abilities and types of travel, and to use existing trails and pathways to connect areas of town. Learn more at pp. 23-169 of the agenda packet at this link.

Returning items include these:

— two draft policies that would provide an alternative to convening and participating in public meetings only in person. One draft focuses on remote meetings and the other on remote and hybrid meetings (hybrid meetings are simultaneously in-person and remote). Read up on the board’s previous discussion at this link and review the draft policies at pp. 170-84 at this link;

— a draft Covid-19 policy for town employees, board and committee members, and other volunteers: pp. 185-91 at this link; and

— a revised and updated paving plan for this year and next: pp, 4-5 at this link.

Full meeting agendas and supporting documents can be found under the “Municipal Officers” tab of the Boards and Committees page on the town website, at this link.
