General Incident Description: At 8:39 AM, New Gloucester Fire Alarm transmitted a still alarm for a motor vehicle accident. Utility 1 and Ambulance 1 arrived on scene 2 minutes after being dispatch, followed by Car 1. Car 1 assumed command and reported a working extrication at 8:43. In addition to New Gloucester companies, mutual aid was requested from Gray with an engine and Life Flight of Maine was requested to land at the fire station.

The patient was extricated at 8:48, and transferred to Ambulance 1. The patient received advanced care from New Gloucester paramedics on scene, was stabilized, and was moved via ambulance to the landing zone at the fire station at 9:00 and received further care. Life Flight landed at 9:15, patient care was transferred, and the patient was flown to Maine Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

Cause of the accident is under investigation by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
