Intervale Pizza closes

For the past two years, Intervale Pizza has had a fan following for its creative, delicious pizzas. But the oven is now cold. On Monday, chef and owner Erik Desjarlais posted the following message on Facebook.

Intervale Pizza took over where the Village Store left off in November of 2021- Incredibly difficult shoes to fill. We did our absolute best to keep the oven hot and people fed. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough and now Intervale Pizza has hung up its pizza peel for the last time.

I hate every bit of this, but the obstacles piled up, it seems like one thing after another, over and over and over again- death by a thousand cuts – and finally it proved to be too much. I feel like I’ve let the community down. It’s an overwhelming feeling that’s difficult to shake.

The business was blessed with some of the best employees and regular guests, and I’m thankful for everyone who tried to make it work. For those of you who supported us, thank you! #adieu #webidyougoodnight

I know we speak for many in saying to Erik and his team: “Thanks and we’ll miss you!”
