First NGFR unit on scene: NG Ambulance 1
General Incident Description: At 1541hrs, New Gloucester Fire Alarm transmitted a still alarm for a motor vehicle rollover on Maine Street in the area of Brackett Road. Initial dispatch reports were that there was entrapment. While enroute, New Gloucester Car 1 requested Poland Fire Rescue respond with a second ambulance for reports of multiple patients. New Gloucester Ambulance 1 arrived first on scene, reported entrapment in an overturned sedan. New Gloucester Engine 2 arrived shortly after, with Chief Bouchard assuming command. Ambulance 1 and Engine 2 crews worked to quickly remove the patient from the overturned vehicle. The patient was moved to the nearby ambulance and transported to Maine Medical Center.
Poland Squad 1 treated and released the driver of the other vehicle. New Gloucester Fire Rescue members remained on scene to direct traffic until the vehicles could be removed from the roadway. The scene was turned over to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, and all companies returned in service.
